Despite the swath of red in the county leaders map, further investigation reveals some important shifts from red to blue. This map shows the percent of voting shift towards Republican or Democrat between 2004 and 2008. The result is astounding, now a sea of blue emerges in both the North and the West. A general shift towards the Democrats accounts for Obama’s significant win.
