The Face of Population Change in Boston, 1960 - 2000

Leah Skahen - Spring 2009

This animation shows change over time in percent age 25-44 (refresh the page to watch it again).  The first noticeably high percentages we see occur in 1980 in the downtown area.  In 1990, this age group is very heavily represented throughout all of Boston, and tapers off by 2000 with strong concentrations downtown and surrounding universities, and more moderate rates in other residential places.
